I am an assistant professor in management at the Carl H. Lindner College of Busines at the University of Cincinnati. I earned my Ph.D. in organizational behavior at the University of Washington in 2018, and I have both an MBA and a BS in journalism from the University of Oregon (2010 and 1998, respectively). Professionally, I have worked in IT, non-profit management, and market research.
My research is broadly centered on team processes (e.g., collaboration), positive organizational behavior (e.g., gratitude), and their intersection. I have published in the Academy of Management Discoveries, Academy of Management Review, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, and Perspectives on Psychological Science. I also serve on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Discoveries and Journal of Organizational Behavior.
My teaching is focused on providing an experiential space for developing current and future business leaders. I blend rigorous evidence-based research with relevant managerial examples to help students gain new insights into human behavior at work. I also co-direct the Ph.D. program in management.
